Changing the Featured Listings on Your Homepage (Video)

General intro discussing what the featured listings section of your website is and how to adjust it.

2:00 Login:

Proceed to login to the backend of your website by going to the admin page.

For example: yourwebsite.com/admin

The featured listings widget uses a search filter that you can create or edit to your specifications. To find out which search filter your featured listings widget is using just hover over the icon that looks like four squares and select Widgets & Sidebars.

The featured listings widget is usually found in Home Page: Content Area 2. Inside here you'll see the search filter selection section of where you can select which search filter to use. 

5:50 Create/Edit Search Filter:

To find the search filters settings you'll hover over the icon inside of the side menu that looks like a house. Select Search Filters from there. 

Then you'll see any available search filters you currently have or you can add a new one by clicking the Add New button. 

First, select one search type since the search filters will not work with multiple search types. You would need to setup a separate search filter if you wanted one to search a different type of primary criteria. Once you have the type of search you'd like selected then enter some primary criteria that is applicable to the search type you selected.

For example; if you select city you can put in the city or cities you'd like to search. For multiple cities format it with a comma before each city:  New York City,Salt Lake City,Portland

Once you have your primary criteria set you can add any applicable Secondary Criteria if necessary. 

For example; if you wanted to only show listings within a certain price range of $200,000-$5,000,000 then you could enter 200k in the min section of your Price criteria and 5m in the max section of your Price criteria. 

Lastly you'll want to publish or update your search filter once your settings have been set up the way you'd prefer. 

10:18 Update Featured Listings Widget:

In the side menu hover over the icon that looks like four squares again and select Widgets & Sidebars. Go into the featured listings widget found usually in Home Page: Content Area 2. 

Once in here just simply select the search filter you'd like to use and save the widget.
