Creating Guides & Neighborhood Pages


The functionality for Guide and Neighborhood Pages is built around allowing you to create localized and Search Engine Optimized content for your website easily.


Creating a Guide Page is very similar to creating a normal page for your website, with the additional ability to add additional local content and the ability to organize or embed sets of guides within another guide.


Some uses of Guides or Neighborhood Pages are:


  • Neighborhood Drill-down
    • Create Individual Guide Pages for each local neighborhood
    • Create a main Neighborhoods or Communities Page with links down to each of the other community or neighborhood pages
    • Each Individual Guide Page has information, links, market statistics, listings and a capture form
  • Topical Landing Page
    • Buyer Guide Landing Page
    • Seller's Guide Landing Page
    • Some other ideas for these are: Short Sales List, Buying a Foreclosure Tips, etc

Creating a Guide Page

1. Select Guides & Neighborhood from the Left-Hand Navigation Menu on your Site Admin





2. On your guides page, you can either choose to edit an existing Guide or Add New to create a new Guide Page.




3. Create/Edit your Guide Page & Publish

Similar to creating pages, Guides can include images, media content and forms as desired. In addition to the standard page editing, guides come with Short-Code functionality built-in.

Short-Codes are basically snippets of functionality that can be utilized without spending a lot of time tweaking, and without needing to do technical coding.

Short-Codes are used by referencing the specific type of shortcode name in left and right brackets, and adding optional parameters after the shortcode name, but within the brackets (see below for example). Once you add a shortcode to your Guide, you can publish or update the page, and view the changes on your site (remember that your site is often Cached for quick access to visitors, and may take a few hours to update).
